Blueberry Picking

Blueberry Picking in Eustis, FL

It’s that time of year for blueberry picking!  There are a ton of options when it comes to blueberry farms in Florida.  In true Conk fashion, I chose a farm I had never been to before.

King Grove Organic Farm in Eustis, Florida is about 30 minutes outside of Deland.  Throughout April and May they offer U-pick, USDA certified organic blueberries for $8 per pound (cash and card accepted).  The farm supplies buckets for picking and bags for taking the berries home.  Wear closed-toe shoes as there are many fire ant piles!

King Grove also has an incredible flower field this time of year!  I’m not saying the flower field was the only reason I chose this farm, but let’s be honest, it was.  Photos are allowed in the fields, but they ask for no flower picking so that future visitors can enjoy them!

You can find the most up to date U-pick availability and hours of operation on the King Grove Organic Farm Facebook Page.

Some other options for U-pick blueberries in the Deland/Eustis area are:

Artisan Acres Farm

Deland Blueberries

Atwood Family Farm U-Pick

Far Reach Ranch

After blueberry picking and frolicking in the heat of the flower fields, we obviously had to quench our thirsts.  We headed into the town of Eustis to check out veteran owned brewery, Wolf Branch Brewing. Given the festive person I am, I ordered their Far Reach Blueberry American Pale Ale (a collaboration with a local blueberry farm).  We sipped our beers, and played Donkey Kong on their Super Nintendo until the Millstone Mayhem level defeated us.

We couldn’t wait to use our blueberries, so breakfast for dinner it was!

My go-to protein pancake recipe:

  • 1/2 banana (mashed)
  • splash of almond milk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 scoop of preferred protein powder

We loved being able to pick our own organic blueberries, knowing exactly where they came from. Comment below if you have any other recommendations for U-pick farms around Florida!
