As I am sitting here pondering where to wander off to for my birthday weekend this year, I thought it seemed fitting to finally write up a blog post on my birthday trip from last year to Stuart, Florida.

For years, I’ve been saving Instagram posts of sea grape lined beach walkways, and limestone coasts with the location reading “Jupiter, Florida.” My two friends, their adorable kiddos, and I, finally took the 3.5 hour road trip from Tampa to this East Coast gem. We only spent three days exploring, but were able to fit in everything we wanted to see during our stay!

There’s nothing more relaxing to me than paddling down a river, enjoying the sights and sounds of Florida nature. I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to write about DeLand. I practically spend every other weekend in this adorable town visiting my boyfriend. If you’re looking for one of the cutest Main Street’s in Florida, add it to the list!
For years, I’ve had a photo saved of the wild sunflower bloom at Lake Jesup Conservation Area just North of Orlando, Florida. After some research, I found that the wildflowers only stay in bloom for about three weeks in October.
If you find yourself wanting to escape the chain restaurants and tourist traffic of the outskirts of Disney, check out the small town of Lake Nona. In just 25 minutes from the Celebration/Lake Buena Vista area, you can find a slice of the Orlando authenticity you’re looking for (minus the Mickey ears).
Acadia National Park is unlike any other National Park I’ve been to. The park sits on the outskirt of the bustling city of Bar Harbor, Maine. Within 30 minutes you can go from a mountain hike, to a fancy seaside lobster feast. Although on the smaller size, there is a lot to experience within Acadia National Park!

Just when I think I’ve had enough with my boyfriend’s sports obsession, it brings us to a fun little weekend getaway in Fort Myers. While Travis attended a basketball officiating camp, I rendezvoused around town with my friend Krystle. Summer is a surprisingly sleepy time of year in Fort Myers, but we had our fair share of fun!
Every other weekend I travel to Deland, Florida to visit my boyfriend. This allows for a whole new range of adventure opportunities and exploring. Our favorite thing to do on the weekend? Snorkel in the springs!
